[kictanet] UNESCO online consultation to develop Internet Universality Indicators

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to inform you that UNESCO is launching a global online consultation platform on Developing Internet Universality indicators<https://en.unesco.org/internetuniversality>.

You are kindly requested to submit written contribution before the deadline of phase 1 consultation: 31 October 2017.

As an alternative to the online version, you may also use the attached questionnaire which can be returned by email to internetstudy at unesco.org<mailto:internetstudy at unesco.org>, before the deadline.


This project follows the 38th General Conference and the endorsement of the CONNECTing the Dots Outcome document as UNESCO's new approach to Internet issues, as well as the successful development and application of the IPDC Media Development Indicators. This project aims to build a framework of Internet indicators which can enrich national stakeholders' capacity to assess Internet development, and thereby foster knowledge societies engaged in sustainable development. This study will be founded on the UNESCO's Internet Universality R.O.A.M concept and develop five categories of indicators including human Rights, Openness, Accessibility, Multi-stakeholder participation and crosscutting ones.
