The balance of oversight vs security/privacy has to be struck.

I believe we have all thought of the sysadmin maintaining your mail server
having access to your mailbox.

While he can monitor the usage, quota and maybe virus threats from your
mailbox, he/she shouldnt really have the ability to read your emails.
