FYI

As announced in June 2013 by Thierry Zomahoun (President & CEO of the AIMS
Global Network) at the AIMS Global Alumni Reunion, we have launched the
Next Einstein Forum (NEF) in partnership with the Robert Bosch Stiftung.

The NEF is a new global forum for science in Africa that will propel Africa
onto the global scientific stage. Further information on the NEF can be
found below and on our recently launched website at www.nef.org

As part of the NEF, we are looking to identify 15 of Africa's top young
scientists (including social scientists) in order to showcase them on the
global stage, connecting them with leaders from industry, funding agencies,
government, and civil-society and to feature them as ambassadors of the
excellence in science taking place today across Africa. Full information is
available in English and French at www.nef.org/fellows. The selection
panel will include eminent scientists from around the world including Nobel
Laureates.

As AIMS alumni, you are a very special group of Africa's leading
mathematical scientists and we want to ask for your help in two ways:

   1. Consider applying as a NEF Fellow! The application process will not
take too long to complete and the entire programme is designed to be a
   springboard to further success.
   2. Help us to find the best young scientists (born in 1973 or later)
from across the continent - please forward this call to others that you
feel would be excellent NEF Fellows - the competition is open to all,
including those who are not AIMS alumni.

If you need any more information (not covered online or below) or if you
have any questions, please contact us at fellows at nef.org Apply online at
www.nef.org. The Deadline for applications is November 30th, 2014.

Thank you and good luck to applicants.
Your AIMS and NEF teams.

*More about the NEF:*
The Next Einstein Forum (NEF), an AIMS initiative in partnership with the
Robert Bosch Stiftung, is a new global forum for science in Africa that
will propel Africa onto the global scientific stage.

The NEF will unite more than 500 outstanding thinkers and distinguished
stakeholders from around the world together in Africa. NEF Global
Gatherings, held every second year, will showcase 15 of Africa's top young
scientists and connect them with leaders from Africa and the rest of the
world in high-profile, invitation-only forums. These leading scientists,
policy-makers, business people, journalists, civil-society representatives
and entrepreneurs will highlight breakthrough discoveries and catalyze
scientific collaboration for human development.

To be held in Senegal as a 3-day event in October 2015, the NEF will touch
on the three pillars of science, society and policy.

A main component of this three day event will be to showcase 15 of Africa's
top young scientists and social scientists connecting them with leaders
