Found this interesting op-ed piece in the Wired by ITU Secretary General -

'*This is why, at the behest of all the world’s nations, the UN must lead
this effort. Otherwise, the alternative is siloed, scattered discussions –
which would put a brake on expanding connectivity to the communities that
need it most*.' With due respect to him, I don't agree with him on this at
all.
