Since their entrance into the market, digital lenders have remained outside
the regulation of the Central Bank of Kenya. It was not up until June 2020
that the Central Bank presented the CBK Amendment Bill 2020 that proposed
the inclusion of digital finance service providers and digital financial
products under the governance of the CBK. What impact does this have for
Digital Lenders, borrowers and traditional lending institutions? Is the
regulation necessary? What impact does this have on Financial inclusion?
