Yes, Ali indeed.

>From technical perspective, it's about traceability of components, inspection and verification of hardware and software amongst other things. As much from poor work or accidental issues than intentional ones. One of our biggest challenges is not our own products, but all the thousands of components in our products from hundreds of suppliers. It's hugely complex, especially in network and IT equipment as most is customized, each product is different.

ultimately, as we always maintain, it's in any company's best interest to produce the best quality products without any problems if companies like us want future customers! the market rewarding or punishing companies' good or poor cyber security practices role is important.

Adam

Thanks for this. Informative. Part of it is public knowledge already especially the part about components of computer systems being manufactured by several vendors.

The Global IT Supply Chain is so convoluted and so many players involved that if what the US is alluding to is correct that we will see the collapse of this ecosystem, of which China is a major player. Kind of shooting oneself in the foot so to speak. Take Apple for example: According to the statement 766 global suppliers, among which 346 were on the Chinese mainland. In summary, around half of iPhones are manufactured in China.

This will be case study worthy of any Business School going forward.

Hi all

I thought I'd share this, as it's a nice summary of the cybersecurity challenges we all face globally and addresses some of the concerns raised by some stakeholders overseas.

there's a lot more detail on the website, but this may be the most insightful.
