Dear Listers,

Please allow to THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH for your great contributions during
the three day "talk to senate" forum. I must admit the Senate ICT
Committee's expectation to get good ideas was surpassed, what with the
honest discussions and brilliant ideas you contributed.

I did pick from the discussions that feedback from parliament/policymakers
hasn't been optimal in the past so please allow me to provide some
preliminary feedback.

Senate ICT Committee has held a few meetings outside of our normal
business to deal with some of the latest happenings and anchored on this,
we did discuss some of what we did with you to generate ideas for our
committee business. This was very well received by all committee members.
We have already submitted some of your broad ideas to our legal team for
further processing and advice as to the best next legislative and other
actions.

Additionally, the Committee plans to host representatives of this team to
present the full report of ideas generated during the three day engagement.
I believe the communication to that effect has already reached you.

To strengthen our committee's engagement with its stakeholders, I have
enlisted the support of my colleague and fellow Senate ICT committee member
Senator Moses Kajwang as additional stakeholder link/focal person for this
and other stakeholder groups. List Admin, thanks for adding Senator
Kajwang. This shows how seriously we take our stakeholder engagement and
the great value we attach to public participation - BTW Thanks very much
for the public participation guidelines ideas.

Once again, thank you very much. We look forward to meeting you and
translating your great ideas and inputs into legislative and other
strategic initiatives.

With kind regards,

Sen. Abshiro Halake
