Subject: [kictanet] ITU Announces New 'Access to Information' Policy
Fellow KICTANeters,
Figured it was time for my first post to the group. I've talked with a few of you about a desire to learn more about multilat policies as they are under discussion and before they are already ratified. Our Coordinator for Communication and Information Policy sent me this today, and I thought it might be of interest. The ITU has announced public access to its documents replacing the old password protection. Now the public should have full access to proposals and ongoing conversations - Press release below - happy reading :)
Warm regards,
David

ITU Announces New 'Access to Information' Policy
Decision brings ITU policy in line with other international organisations
Geneva, 2 January, 2017 - ITU has started the New Year by launching a new access to information policy, committing to make more information and documents held, managed, or generated by ITU, to be openly available online.
The decision was made by ITU's governing Council in 2016. It aims to bring public access to information for ITU's main conferences and meetings in line with other international organisations like the World Bank, UNDP, and UNESCO. The decision will enhance transparency to ITU's decision-making processes.
