[kictanet] Mucheru says draft law on blogger video uploads to be amended - Politics and policy

It is interesting to note that the draft 'bill' has a requirement to
obtain a licence before any 'filming' takes place! - by the submission
of scripts for approval!!! In my experience, professional productions
have many script changes, including actor's 'ad-libs' - which are all
part of the creative process. Only the final edit is the version
which should be subject to classification.

Many 'amateur' productions are entirely un-scripted - as are media
reporting (which category most video bloggers - 'vloggers' - also fall
into).

These draconian measures to attempt to control the media just won't
work. Let's hope that CS Mucheru, and others, will be voices of
sanity in this legislation!

Cheers,
Tony
