Hello Barrack,

Am told this was a one off system failure. This has since been fixed your money should be in your bank account.

Thanks to CBK team for the quick resolution.

Paul Roy.

Barrack

The Kenya Bankers Association is also involved in the clearing house. The other thing that would be good to check is this:-

Say your RTGS credit was 20k. Assume that your bank has say 1 million customers. Do the math and say 10% of those customers transfer money via RTGS. I personally have had to wait 4-5 days for such transfers to hit my account. Can you imagine how much your bank is making on the overnight lending desk?

Sometimes we blame technology to cover up some unsavoury practices..

Listers,

A local electronic payment (RTGs) was initiated in my favor yesterday
at 9 am. Until now i haven't received the funds 24 hours later and
the bank seems to lay the blame with the Central Bank of Kenya
clearing unit.

I wonder if this is healthy for our growing electronic commerce
industry and most importantly as stakeholders what role can we play to
make sure CBK is efficient if the claims are true, i also wonder if
this is a switching issue or pure bureaucracy.

Best Regards
