Internet Giants are fighting back their governments' request for data and access to their networks in the wake of Snowdenia.

This is a natural reaction to the fact that most of these companies have seen a significant decline in customer confidence regarding their ability to maintain integrity of their data. Cisco for example has seen it lose market share in Asia and Europe because of perceived NSA installed back doors to their routers.

This is an interesting lesson on how government action can detrimentally affect private sector competitiveness.
