James,
Thanks. A historic report at a period in time is fine - that's exactly what I'm looking for - but one that shows progress overall and not requiring one to run to every implementer for disparate pieces.
I guess Mugo Kibati and his team may want to consider having such a report if they do not already have it. If anyone knows of such a report, I would be happy to have a copy.
Thanks
Edith

Thanks for the clarification.
Again, I'm sure if such a report is done, it is for a period ending sometime in the past, say end of June, 2013. For the simple reason, you have to wait for Ministries to report on the progress of their projects which probably takes place at the end of the financial year. If you want such a report now, you would have to check with the ministries individually. As you well know, Monitoring and Evaluation is done on a periodic basis, mid-term, end-term etc. But take it up with MED, Monitoring and Evaluation Division at Herufi House. I'm only giving you my insights from the time I used to cover Business and Financial news and followed Treasury, Planning and Vision 2030 quite a bit.
Regards
James

James,
Thanks for sharing this information - quite enlightening. To clarify, I did not ask for a ONE-PAGE document instead asked for a single document that would state holistic progress at a point in time within the 5 year mid-term plan.
Isn't it called "Vision 2013 DELIVERY secretariat"...I thought the "DELIVERY' bit connotes some level of coordination among the various implementers such that the secretariat would have periodic reports showing what progress is being made overall.
If today, the President asked for such a report, would you tell him to write it himself!!

Perhaps you need to familiarize yourself with Vision 2030 first. You cannot get a one page status implementation document for the simple reason, this is a policy document broadly spelling out the priority areas.
It is further divided into five-year plans. We have already done the first 5-year medium term plan and we are on the second. There was a publication after the first five-year plan.
In turn, the National Treasury, does what it calls Medium Term Expenditure Framework which is largely based on the Five-year plan.
Within the general policy thrust however, are some flagship projects: Isiolo Resort Town, Konza ICT city, Ol Karia V, Lapsset Project, Railway mini-cities, irigation projects etc etc.
Within Ministries, there are supposed to be Planning officers working with the Planning Ministry to maintain National Monitoring Indicators showing progress made in meeting goals. www.monitoring.go.ke<http://www.monitoring.go.ke>
Otherwise, the best thing is to familiarize yourself with the blueprint and you could write that one page summary yourself.

James

Listers,
Does anyone know where one can get up-to-date (ONE document) status of implementation of vision 2030?
Their website is too complicated! Finding ONE document with current status is not easy.
Please share with me directly if you have a copy.
Thanks
Edith
