[kictanet] The role of Media in political developement

The below points not withstanding, the media is a mirror of society. It does not create news, only reports, analyzes and hopefully provides insight.
Any candidate for office is responsible to communicate well and package his ideas in a way that appeals to the electorate. It is not the medias job to take up the slack of poorly packaged candidates. If you cannot attract 50 people to your rally do not expect to make the headlinea.
Secondly ideology can also divide. Mitt Romney has been villified because of his religion. Gayism and abortion are divisive issues in the USA. And the US press headline these issues with glee.
