[kictanet] Yawe migrates to Digital TV

Hi John,

As you have mentioned where are the documents that relate to the migration process as without that I have no basis on which to sue the provider.

Fortunately we only have roughly 2.5 million TV sets in the country which could explains why the forerunners are being given a large window of opportunity before either STB competitors finally decide to jump into the fray or the price of digital TVs and TVs with built in decoders drop substantially.

The DVB can be upgraded remotely, I have seen it happening as I watch the broadcast, I am also made to believe that you can get one with a USB dongle slot for your 3G modem to enable internet browsing with the modem used for transmission only.

Regards

cck is still the regulator in yawe's case and just to test if that
process works, i say lodge a complaint (assuming the service provider is actually non compliant) and lets see where this rabbit hole ends.

For the last two weeks now I have been asking where these policy documents are. are they part of open data and i missed something?

It will be way harder to sort things out once 20 million set top boxes are in the market. in a discussion yesterday a friend asked whether you can do a remote firmware update on an STB. a seemingly silly question but very valid considering the rapid change of technology. we do need to have a look at those requirements/policy documents if only to satisfy my curiosity.
