Yawe,

I applaud your courageous departure from the popular group think. Your
discourse raises pertinent issues. The on-going Konza adverts have created
a lot of buzz among Kenyans. I concur with your view that there is need to
take an objective look at this project. In my view the analogy of Westgate
shopping Mall and Konza is rather far fetched. My understanding of the
Konza City project is that it is larger in scope and size than the SMART
Village in Cairo or the Smart City in Dubai. Yawe has introduced a new
twist in our perceived competitive advantage being our human resource. Do
we have adequate ICT Skilled manpower to compete favorable in a the ICT
Global arena? HR will be one of the key considerations for any FDI in the
Konza City. That politics and economic development are intertwined is a
fact that cannot be overlooked in this project.
