[kictanet] Declining English grammar in our Newsprint (Phares Kariuki)

Afew more reasons:

- the pressure to get articles/news/etc out in a speedy manner; be the first to "break the news". What with the 24-hour news cycle?

- the lax attitude and declining of standards plus "tolerance" of the same by "consumers.  


As book publishers, we have consistently seen the latter attitude from our Kenyan-based editors compared to those in Canada, Jamaica, Middle East, etc. I once complained about shoddy work we were being asked to pay for and asked that the work be redone. The impatient editor retorted: what's with a few mistakes which can fixed on the following release! End of dealing with the person!
