Hi Dennis (and all),

We are planning to provide the region's emerging animation industry a major
boost at the third annual AITEC Broadcast & Film Africa Conference in
Nairobi over 6-7 July, by including a stream in the conference on developing
the industry (training, skills development, business models, marketing). In
addition, we are going to have an Animation Pavilion in the expo to provide
space for young animators to demo their productions and network with
potential partners, customers and investors.

The Call for Papers for the conference is attached.

Regards,

Sean

PS - I have to say, I think the content of the Youtube clip is terrible, and
represents much of what we should be rejecting in the region (and the
world), especially as it seems aimed at a young audience - youths wielding
automatic rifles, violence against women, general violence and mayhem. But
maybe I'm old-fashioned J

I also can't wait for the Animation park that the PS has been championing to
open. Nigeria might have run away with film, but we have an opportunity to
become Africa's powerhouse of animation and CGI, like the Japanese are known
for their Manga. We might even be the saviour of Uganda's Ramon Production's
CGI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BymeLkZ7GqM
