Hi All,

I wish i could ask Micheal two questions, his Need to Achieve (N-Arch) level and
secondly the family birth order i want to believe he is not the first born (on a
very light note).  His characteristics portray to me that he is second.  Second
borns are impetient and are generally fighters - fighting the buly first born
and the strict parents.  Studies show the two characteristics to propel
enterprenueral capabilities.  If MJ answered me it will affirm the assumptions.

Sam

Thanks Sam , just wondering  what skills one needs to know when the window is
open and whether this is the defining skill of MJ

Hi All,

In entreprenuership, there are corridors and a window of opportunity.  A
successful entreprenuer has to be in the corridor so that when the window opens,
he is right at it.  The situation was already was present and MJ saw the window
open and there he exited.  The lesson here is that we need to develop some
instinct to tell us the window is open.

Companies big and small can be a success story and i take encouragement from
this case study of Safaricom.  I can guarantee you that many papers have been
written about Safaricom and i want to believe that soon instead of having
Kentucky Chicken as a case study in Strategy books, Safaricom will take up the
slot.

Hi Listers

Many thanks for the exciting and very candid contribution - straight from
the heart. It came out clearly that there is something in MJ's character
that produces the results we see.  Mj was  '---smart enough to take
advantage of the situation during his tenure--  '  . Did MJ create the
situation  or just took advantage?

Lets reflect on the lessons  of his early years in the ict industry.  The
company was small and indeed an underdog  - today this is no more

There were and still are many companies that were in same position. Some
have gone under while  others are struggling

What lessons do the MJ actions teach such companies ?

Can  the lessons from MJ replicated  to other industries?

cheers
