Imperva and WhiteHat Security sponsored the Ponemon Institute in a survey
designed to better understand the risk of insecure web sites and how
organizations’ address internal and external threats.
This study, which surveyed 638 IT and IT security practitioners, revealed
that many organizations fail to provide sufficient resources to secure and
protect web applications important to their operations. This is a
particularly alarming finding, given the web application layer is the number
one attack target of hackers.
As revealed in this study, web sites are at risk for the reasons outlined.
