Hi,
What was requested for is a server that can meet the IPTV requirements, currently that is what we want to role out. We shall regulate those allowed to logon, this is to get an appreciation of the technology and the skills available locally.
Once the prototype is tested we shall then move to the next level of commercialization at which point we shall look into the most appropriate hardware. Please note that this is a knee jack reaction as a resolved of the fiasco that was Dr. Ndemo's presentation recording.
So please lets move forward with the initial test I am interested in the IPTV component so the server is to be used solely for that purpose.
Regards

Robert,
These are good contributions.
Skunkworks have been raising funds for a mail server that could also be used as a media or video conferencing server also if enough funds are raised to get a good server.
Maybe you could suggest HP or Dell Server specs good enough within the 100K to 200K range. None of us are sure yet how many would be logging in concurrently but we could assume not more than 100 to begin with.
The technical skills & energy available on Skunkworks makes them quite able to manage (not host) such equipment.
Josiah Mugambi or Phares Kariuki can update us on the progress being made on that front.
Cheers
SMM
