The bird will always beat a DSL line, which is asynchronous (faster
down than "up") over a relatively short distance.  At 1.54 Megabits
per second, a 4 GB file will take a minimum of 6 hours.

If you buy a fatter, synchronous pipe, you can beat the bird.
