Ladies and Gents,
I have been thinking about this a great deal over the last few days.
My position remains the same, the IGF (global one) is not a
negotiating, output focused body. HOWEVER, there is no reason the
National or Regional IGFs cannot produce outputs to help local and
regional policy makers.
As much as I applaud the fantastic organisational job done to bring
this EAIGF about, I think that IF this body wants to actually produce
a useful output for policy makers, it needs to shift format a bit.
Instead of being a "presentations with a few questions at the end"
kind of thing, I think that breaking up into subject matter working
groups (with associated mailing lists per subject) over the course of
the year will be more likely to produce useful frameworks for policy
makers.
Hope to see you later this morning,
McTim
