Hi Michael,
I've just gone through their dividend payment flier.
There is no charge in buying airtime. 

Quoting FAQ #7:
"Will I be charged to Receive my dividend by M-PESA?
NO. You will not be charged to receive your dividend by M-PESA but note that
the normal M-PESA transfer charges apply to transactions on your account e.g
withdrawal, paying bills etc. apart from buying airtime which is free of any
charges."

Seems like the only cost will be "effort" :)
