Another way:

2000 developers earning an average of KShs 500,000.00 per year (about 
KShs 40,000 per month) = KShs 1 Billion

Of course the 20% who stay on in the industry for 10 - 20 years end up 
earning 3 to 5 times above average if they are really good.

Factoring this in, my own estimate for the industry in 2009 is @ KShs 
1.5 Billion = USD 20 Million.
