The World Summit Award (WSA) is a global contest for selecting and promoting
the world's best practice examples in e-content and creativity. The
initiative was started in 2003 in the framework of the United Nations' World
Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) and sees bridging the Digital
Divide and the Content Gap as its overall goal. As of today WSA involves
representatives from 168 countries all over the world. Focusing on cultural
identity and diversity, the WSA looks for multimedia projects that
effectively and creatively work with quality contents and digitalize
educational, scientific and cultural heritage.

Every two years the World Summit Award (WSA) organizes an international
competition of creative multimedia content/products from all country experts
according to 8 categories, these categories are:

- e-Government & Institutions

- e-Health & Environment

The WSA contest is open to any university, institution, organization,
individual, company that has created / creates multimedia content in either
online format or offline on CD-ROM that would fit any of the above
categories.

I would like to encourage all those who have created multimedia products
