Dear All

Thank you very much for the congratulatory messages. Although I have not
received official confirmation, apart from a phone call from the Ministry's
office I believe this appointment is in recognition of the work of the Kenya
ICT Action Network (KICTANET) a multi stakeholder forum, consisting of
civil society, academia, private sector, media, youth, gender groups and
development partners.

I must also congratulate the Kenya government for acknowledging that the
complexities of meeting the challenges of ICTs as an enabler of sustainable
development requires bringing together major stakeholders in a new form of
decision finding, decision-making and communication. I hope this will
provide an opportunity for a truly participatory process.
