Dear Colleagues, Stakeholders and Friends,



Following the adoption under the aegis of the African Union Commission of
the African Regional Action Plan on the Knowledge Economy (ARAPKE) by the
African ministers on 21 September 2005, and the two meetings organized by
the African Union and ECA in Tunis on 16 November 2005 during the WSIS, I am
pleased to inform you that the 16 November meetings recommended submission
of more project proposals representing all sub-regions in the framework of
ARAPKE. Accordingly, institutions from governments, civil society, private
sector, sub-regional, regional and international organizations are requested
to forward their project proposals to: bteshager at uneca.org with a copy to:
mfaye at uneca.org and tamoussougbo at uneca.org before 24 December 2005, using
the attached template.

So far over 30 project descriptions have been received from various
stakeholders.
