<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 10pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">Magnify the scope of definition of the word: “Personal Data”,
currently it seems quite undetaled<span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 10pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">‘personal data’ should be defined to mean any information
relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘data subject’); an
identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or
indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an
identification number, location data, an online identifier (Web data such as
location, IP address, cookie data and RFID tags) or to one or more factors
specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or
social identity of that natural person; <span></span></p>

Greetings.<br>

In the last two decades, Kenya mobile communications and internet<br>
connectivity have rapidly increased. With these developments, the<br>
country has also developed a data economy. The data economy is the<br>
wealth and resources created from collection and processing of data.<br>
It is the cornerstone of the fourth industrial revolution which uses<br>
digital technologies to carry out processes, be they physical,<br>
digital, or biological. A key feature of the revolution is data-driven<br>
decision making, creation of new products, services and innovation.?<br>
<br>
A team of KICTANet listers have been working to produce a draft policy<br>
brief on Data Protection in Kenya which I attach.? We would<br>
appreciate your comments on it as it is still being reviewed. We will<br>
be receiving comments in the next two weeks (until May 25, 2018).<br>
