<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body><div><div style="font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">Hello,<br><br>On Thursday I attended an observers' briefing at Bomas. It was meant to start at 11 but started at around 11:45. The only Kenyan media house I spotted was Citizen which came in at around 12:45 after the briefing by the commissioners. They only caught the plenary session. I wouldn't be surprised if that is what happened at this function. <br><br>Concerning the tallying, IEBC stated the media would be streaming the results real-time as it receives them. IEBC is clear that only one announcement will be made on the winner, and it is the only one to make that announcement. I believe this is what they are guarding against, premature announcements. <br><br>Deborah</div></div><div dir="ltr"><hr><span style="font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-weight: bold;">From: </span><span style="font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;"><a href="mailto:kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke">kanini mutemi via kictanet</a></span><br><span style="font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-weight: bold;">Sent: </span><span style="font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">29/07/2017 20:35</span><br><span style="font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-weight: bold;">To: </span><span style="font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;"><a href="mailto:deborah.wanjugu@gmail.com">deborah.wanjugu@gmail.com</a></span><br><span style="font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-weight: bold;">Cc: </span><span style="font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;"><a href="mailto:kaninimutemi@gmail.com">kanini mutemi</a></span><br><span style="font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-weight: bold;">Subject: </span><span style="font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">Re: [kictanet] Gov't threatens to shut media houses announcingelection results - Citizentv.co.ke</span><br><br></div><div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family: georgia,serif;">@Ali like you I am also curious on this insistence on 'Tally but do not announce'. <br></div></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Sat, Jul 29, 2017 at 8:09 PM, Davis Onsakia via kictanet <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke" target="_blank">kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke</a>></span> wrote:<br><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin: 0px 0px 0px 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex; border-left-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-left-width: 1px; border-left-style: solid;"><div><div dir="auto">The IEBC have indicated that the results will be on their portal as announced at the constituency tallying centre.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">What's wrong with a media house picking that and just doing some simple arithmetic?
