<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif">On this privacy debate, we must remember that the reason why the register is published is for the public to inspect the register and verify its integrity- remember the cases of dead voters being on the register etc.<br><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif">We decided a while back to do away with the voters card which had the voter's number. This is how the national ID came to be the primary ID for the voters register. The Register is supposed to be published outside the chief's office (or such other public place) for anyone interested to inspect it.
