<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-GB">We would like to let you know that the 2016 Global ICT Capacity Building Symposium (CBS-16) scheduled to take place from 6<sup>th</sup> to 8<sup>th</sup> September
2016 at the Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya under the theme <i>‘Embracing Capacity Building Opportunities in the Digital Era’. </i>The Symposium will be preceded by a </span>pre-conference event which will take place on 5<sup>th</sup> September 2016. This
will be<b> </b>dedicated to the topics of <i>“Capacity Building in Internet Governance”</i><b> </b>and <i>“Regulators as Enablers and Beneficiaries of Capacity Building</i>”<span lang="EN-GB">.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-GB">The Symposium is hosted by the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) on behalf of the Government of Kenya in partnership with the International Telecommunication
Union (ITU).<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-GB"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-GB">The ITU CBS-16 is the main global event for capacity development in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The Symposium will bring together
ICT Ministers, Education Ministers, heads of national/ ICT regulatory authorities, heads of international organizations, chief executive officers of private sector companies, members of the academia and experts from around the world to discuss trends and developments
in the sector and their implications for human and institutional capacity building.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-GB"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-GB">ITU CBS-16 will equally feature high-level debates addressing key questions on policy issues relating to human capacity building in the ICT sector. The Symposium
will also debate how ICT could play a catalytic role in helping countries attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among other topical issues that are critical to the development of ICTs.</span><span lang="EN-GB"></span><span lang="EN-GB"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
