<div style="font-family: Trebuchet MS,Verdana,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; text-align: justify;" align="justify">The Government of Kenya, through the Ministry of Information Communications and Technology in fulfillment of its mandate to the people of Kenya, has been undertaking key infrastructure projects across the country considered critical in nature. This infrastructure includes roads, Power lines, Pipelines, ICT infrastructure and water reticulation systems among others.<br><br></div>
<div style="font-family: Trebuchet MS,Verdana,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; text-align: justify;" align="justify">Currently, the deployment, maintenance and protection of Critical Infrastructure is done in an independent and uncoordinated manner leading to disruption of essential services and losses due to damage. There is need therefore to consider having a whole inclusive approach in the planning, designing implementation and protection of critical infrastructure.<br><br></div>
<div style="font-family: Trebuchet MS,Verdana,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; text-align: justify;" align="justify">It is on this basis that the Cabinet Secretaries of the Ministries of Transport and Infrastructure, Energy and Petroleum and that of Information, Communications and Technology have formed a Taskforce to draft a policy and legislative framework for the protection of critical infrastructure in the Country.<br><br></div>
