responsible for ICT-related issues, ITU Telecom World Young Innovators
Competition launched the 4<sup>th</sup> and last challenge of this year. Given
your work with the ATU - African Telecommunications Union we kindly ask for
your support in promoting the competition in your network in order to give the
opportunity to participate to as many young people as possible. Please kindly
pass the information to the relevant national administrations in order to
spread the word among university students and other young bright minds in your
country who might be interested in applying.</span></p>
<p class="ecxMsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;line-height:106%;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:black;">This challenge is in partnership with the
IEEE IoT Initiative and we are looking for the best ideas for new businesses
and innovations on how the Internet of Things can be used for social good. We
will be accepting ideas until November 03, 2014.</span></p>
<p class="ecxMsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;line-height:106%;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:black;">The competition is open to 18-30 year-old
young people from across ITU’s 193 member states. The winners are invited to
the ITU Telecom World 2014 in Doha in December this year where they can
showcase their innovative ideas and will enjoy mentoring and workshops on
entrepreneurial skills. Prize money of up to USD 5,000 in the form of seed
funding will be awarded to implement and bring to scale winning start-ups.
