for Internet Research and Education (FIRE) Programme will host a
<b>Grant Proposal
Development Workshop</b> in
Djibouti from <b>2-3 June

workshop
will be held during the <b>Africa
Internet
Summit</b> <b>(AIS) 2014</b>
and
the <b>AFRINIC 20 Meeting.</b>
This event,
which takes place from 25 May – 6 June, is hosted by AFRINIC,
AFNOG, Djibouti
Telecom under the high patronage of the Ministry of
Communications in charge of
Posts and Telecommunications.<u></u><u></u></span></p>

goal
of this workshop is to provide participants with the skills
required to
create effective grant proposals to seek funding from potential
donors. The
two-day workshop covers a range of topics relevant to grant
proposal writing as
well as a session on how to apply for FIRE grants and awards.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal"><span>The
workshop
will be recorded and made available as a free webinar on <a href="http://www.fireafrica.org/" target="_blank"><span style="color:blue">http://www.fireafrica.org/</span></a>
for the benefit of anyone looking for the enhancement of their
grant proposal
writing skills.<u></u><u></u></span></p>

ICT organisations can apply to participate in this Workshop by

FIRE
Programme encourages innovative approaches to Internet
infrastructure
development in Africa by using the small grants funding
mechanism to enable
local organisations to implement creative ICT initiatives. FIRE
programme
recipients are encouraged to share their knowledge and learned
experiences in
their local communities so that others can benefit from applying
innovative
solutions to their unique challenges.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal"><span>A
key benefit for FIRE programme project teams is the exposure to
a wider group
of potential partners and donors, as the success of each
initiative may bring
projects to a larger scale.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal"><span>Writing
effective
grant proposals is a critical skill for any team wishing to
bring
their initiative to the next level.<u></u><u></u></span></p>

communities
located in Francophone, Lusophone, isolated and post-conflict
regions are encouraged to apply for this workshop in order to
receive support
for capacity building development to improve the quality of
future project

les pays francophones,
lusophones, dans les régions isolées ou sortant d’un conflit

Atelier. Elles pourront ainsi recevoir un appui en matière de
développement de
capacités afin d’améliorer la qualité de leur projet à soumettre
à des futurs
