Dear all, <br>During the Kenya IGF we got acquainted with Dr Mutuma Ruteere, the UN special rapporteur on on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and<br>related intolerance. Racism, xenophobia et al are being propagated on the Internet and while some years back this was being done "out there", it is increasingly coming home. <br>
<br>Dr Mutuma is carrying out a study on Racism, xenophobia et al on the Internet and is seeking views from stakeholders. He will shortly be posting questions on the same. Please welcome him to the list! <br><br>A little about him: <br>
Mutuma Ruteere is Kenyan and serves as Director, Centre for Human Rights and<br>Policy Studies, an independent research centre based in Nairobi Kenya. His research<br>and publication is in the field of human rights. He also teaches university courses on<br>
human rights, international law and international politics. His current work at the Centre<br>for Human Rights and Policy Studies attempts to link theoretical research with policy<br>innovation.<br><br>In November 2011, he was appointed by the UN Human Rights Council as the Special<br>
Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and<br>related intolerance. He is interested in questions of Internet governance in relation to the<br>use of the Internet to promote racist and xenophobic content and incitement to racial,<br>
