                        I write to ask you to consider reminding your members about the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) </span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: sans-serif; "><span style="font-weight: bold">Comprehensive Study on the Problem of and Response to Cybercrime </span></span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: sans-serif; ">recently mandated by United Nations General Assembly Resolution </span><a href="http://www.unodc.org/documents/justice-and-prison-reform/AGMs/General_Assembly_resolution_65-230_E.pdf"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: sans-serif; color: #0000FF; "><u>65/230</u></span></a><span style="font-size: small; font-family: sans-serif; ">.  The current deadline for completed questionnaires to be uploaded to the </span><a href="http://www.unodc.org/cybercrime-study/"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: sans-serif; color: #0000FF; "><u>UNODC Cybercrime portal</u></span></a><span style="font-size: small; font-family: sans-serif; "> is 30 June 2012.</span><br />
                        <br />
                        <span style="font-size: small; font-family: sans-serif; ">This study was recently </span><a href="http://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/frontpage/2012/January/unodc-chief-announces-a-comprehensive-study-on-cybercrime.html"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: sans-serif; color: #0000FF; "><u>launched by the UNODC Executive Director</u></span></a><span style="font-size: small; font-family: sans-serif; "> at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Member states will look to the completed study with a view to strengthen existing and to propose new national and international legal or other responses to cybercrime. As you may recall from previous correspondence, UNODC is currently inviting selected private sector organizations to complete a questionnaire related to their experience and perceptions of cybercrime. The questionnaire represents a unique opportunity for private sector organizations to ensure that their views are reported and reflected in the study.</span><br />
                        <br />
                        <span style="font-size: small; font-family: sans-serif; ">Potential participants should register at </span><a href="http://www.unodc.org/cybercrime-study"><span style="font-size: medium; font-family: serif; color: #0000FF; ">www.unodc.org/cybercrime-study</span></a><span style="font-size: medium; font-family: serif; color: #0000FF; "> </span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: sans-serif; ">as soon as possible to download a survey for completion.</span><br />

                        <span style="font-size: small; font-family: sans-serif; ">Be assured that information provided in response to the questionnaire will be processed solely for the purposes of the cybercrime study; it will not be attributed to organizations directly by name without prior authorization.<br />
