Listers,<br><br>Appreciation for that notice Mr. Kukubo<br><br>Its great and a step towards the right direction. Myself i think its long overdue and just as you caution us that the western nations and more specifically the proposal in the EU law that would make it illegal for data to flow to<br>
countries , means only one thing if we dont have our systems and policies right we risk not only being locked out of the avenue towards digital advancement but we shall also be relegating ourselves to conditions that shall stunt our information age.<br>
<br>So its imperative that the said bills are not only relevant but also tailored to meet our needs as well as provide a synergy and nexus with our peers . <br><br>Its been said more than once that the next big thing "techwise" will come from Africa, so we must get things right from the very foundations.<br>

AS I write this I am sitting in a forum organized by the ISACA Kenya<br>
Chapter to discuss these two draft bills. At this meeting we have a<br>
representative from CIC. The draft bills are on the CIC website.<br>
<br>
Listers should be made aware of this process which is important as part of<br>
the constitutional implementation. When the act is passed it will improved<br>
our profile as a destination for data processing. As we speak there is a<br>
proposal in the EU law that would make it illegal for data to flow to<br>
countries that don't have data protection in place. This has several<br>
implications.<br>
<br>
Also, in a networked world, analyst indicate that the end game will be that<br>
there will be global centers of excellence in data processing. Indeed<br>
multinationals are consolidating data centres globally.<br>
<br>
Submissions have been made by national council for law reporting, CIC,<br>
Kenya bankers association.<br>
