<div><br></div><div>The profession needs a more progressive legislation enabling easier and faster registration; convenient payment systems for subscription fees; continuing education and less inhibiting bureaucracy. The new legislation should improve the quality of engineers.</div>
<div><br></div><div><br></div><div>1. <u>Cabinet approved Engineers Bill 2009 on 30th of June, 2010</u></div><div><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS', arial, sans-serif;font-size:10.8333px;color:rgb(51, 51, 51)">The engineering profession is also headed for a shake-up, with the approval of the Engineers Bill 2009 which if enacted will regulate the engineering profession through registration and training.<br>
<br>It will allow for mandatory annual licensing of practising engineers, regulation of all engineering consulting firms, establishment of the scale of fees for engineering professional services and the promotion of ethical practices and good governance in engineering works and services.</span></div>
