I actually think that the AU's position - where they prefer a community based approach towards activating the domain - is a much better, more inclusive and transparent way.<br><br>I also agree that AFTLD can and should take the initiative to show leadership on the matter, of course, working closely with other stakeholder groups and organisations like AfriNIC, AfNOG etc...<br>

I know that she is a very controversial figure and has made wild claims of
support in the past.<br><br>Apparently this issue came up last week at the East African IGF in Uganda - she was there and tried to claim legitimacy but ended up being outrightly rejected and received a "dressing up" from most of the delegates there....<br>
