The Kenya ICT Board in conjunction with the Kenya Network Information <BR>
Center (KENIC), the Kenya ICT Action Network (KICTANet), Communications <BR>
Commission of Kenya (CCK) the East African ICT for Development Network <BR>
(EA ICT4D), International Development and Research Center (IDRC) and <BR>
other participating organizations invite you to the East Africa Internet <BR>
Governance Forum (EAIGF) to be held between the 10th and 12th of <BR>
November, 2008 in Nairobi Kenya.<BR>
<BR>
The EAIGF is a follow up to the National Internet Governance Forums <BR>
(NIGF's) being held in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda in October <BR>
2008 and which are aimed at identifying, exploring and building <BR>
consensus around national level Internet Governance issues.<BR>
<BR>
The East Africa Internet Governance Forum (EAIGF) aims at:<BR>
• creating awareness,<BR>
• instituting a consensus building process to develop a common <BR>
understanding of East African Internet governance<BR>
• building policy capacity in order to enable meaningful <BR>
participation in global Internet policy, governance and development.<BR>
<BR>
The outcomes of the EAIGF will be submitted and presented at the third <BR>
global Internet Governance Forum taking place in India in December 2008.<BR>
<BR>
As a key player in the Internet industry, it is our pleasure to invite <BR>
you to the East African IGF. A detailed programme for the event will be sent in <BR>
due course.<BR>
