Eric<br><br>We shall partner where we can to ensure availability of information and knowledge that can assist ICT sector development.<br><br>There are numerous bodies out there dealing with different aspects and initiatives concerning ICT. ICT is a very large and cross-cutting area.<br>
<br>The board has responsibility specifically for developing and positioning Kenya as an ICT destination. This is in addition to bandwidth infrastructure capacity support under KTCIP.<br><br>The Team at the Board will ensure that we are aware of these so that we do not duplicate. When we sense a glaring need or where stakeholders determine a need, we shall ensure we drive the research to get the knowledge.<br>
<br>Just as an example of Initiatives that we are aware of.<br><br>1. The Export Promotion Council is working with Commonwealth Secretariate to develop a country strategy for the export of services. They have identified BPO as the sector with their highest growth potential. As part if this extensive work which has taken the better of 7 months, they have determined the market size in Kshs terms of different sub-sectors> BPO Exports in Kenya is USD 90 M. <br>
<br>2. The Ministry of Youth has just launched theYouth and ICT Action Plan for Kenya developed with assistance from Microsoft.<br><br>3. Novatech / EU- Proinvest ICT investment support for Africa (report on ict board website <a href="http://www.ict.go.ke">www.ict.go.ke</a>).<br>
