Good point. I'd hesitate to bring in ICANN here. Rather I'd ask
how involved is the African Union in this matter? The way this matter has
gone and the way a non-African entity is literally holding Afrinic hostage
is a matter of utmost importance for this continent.

Am I missing something? Has there been a statement from the AU or any
African Government addressing this issue?  What is wrong with us?

If I were at the Board Level of Afrinic the first thing I'd do is put a
motion of the board to relocate the Afrinic HQ to a more hospitable African
country. I understand that Board members are held to a
non-disclosure agreement so they are probably muzzled from deliberating in
public what we all need to know...
