Dear listers,
On behalf of the LocNet team, I am happy to share with you all this call for participation to SPACE – Socio-political Advocacy for Community Networks Engagement.
SPACE is a capacity-building, movement-building and mentorship programme that is conceived and designed within the Local Access and Community Networks (LocNet)* initiative. The mentorship programme aims to bring together digital community network advocates and internet governance and digital rights activists based in the global South.
Its main goal is to support and equip women, gender-diverse, queer and trans individuals to take on leadership roles for community network advocacy in policy and regulatory spaces.
The SPACE programme will enhance the participants’ understanding and skills so that they can engage in effective advocacy aimed at fostering an enabling community network policy framework that intersects with gender rights.
Participants who successfully complete the capacity-building component will be encouraged to apply for short-term fellowships available through the LocNet initiative to complement their learning and strengthen their interests in gendered policy areas.
When applying to SPACE, participants will be committing to attending two sessions per week for 90 minutes each.
The SPACE programme will run online for eight weeks from October through November 2021.
If you are interested and able to commit, kindly proceed by filling out the application by the deadline, 16 August 2021: https://limesurvey.apc.org/index.php/525125?
Slots are limited.
