[kictanet] Draft Rules-Communications and Multimedia Appeals Tribunal

Dear listers ,

The Communications and Multimedia Appeals Tribunal is established under 
the Kenya Information and Communications [Amendment] Act of 2013. It has 
an overarching disputes settlement role between parties in the entire 
communications and multimedia sector with both original jurisdiction to 
adjudicate first instance disputes upon complaints as well as Appellant 
to determine appeals from decisions of regulators and service providers 
in the telecoms sector in order to protect the rights of service 
providers or consumers and promote harmony in the telecoms sector.

The Tribunal is in the process of regulating its proceedings and in 
order to do so, the tribunal has formulated draft rules, procedures and 
prepared forms to operate more effectively. Once validated by the 
stakeholders, the Tribunal will be instrumental in decongesting matters 
currently handled by the High Court because of lack of sensitization 
amongst its stakeholders on where to file.
