I think for such thing to succeed, we need such thing as a “Carrier neutral” fiber infrastructure service provider. Someone who’se core business, is offering local loops either at layer 2 or 3. Possibly with zero active devices.

I suspect that the bigger problem is that because deploying fiber infrastructure is a hugely capital intensive exercise, those who get there first leverage on scale and financial muscle to roll out infrastructure, then use the same strength to remain in the lead.

While government should not interfere, or be involved in active running of business, the least we would have expected, is for NOFBI to be operated in a manner that is fair and equitable, not as things currently stand.

FYI in some places they installed 24 core fiber. 24!
