"In an effort to “de-Westernize” and maintain control over internet users and the spread of information, the Iranian government has revealed a state-sponsored internet known formally as the National Information Network. This new service, nicknamed the “halal” (lawful) internet, is another ploy by the Iranian state to limit the spread of information into and around Iran...This network service is not the only one still available to Iranians, however. In an effort to attract users, the government has offered a series of incentives, like low prices and quick installation, to using this state-sponsored internet, which claims to be 60 times faster than any current internet in Iran...Most Iranians have figured out ways to circumvent the closely monitored web. ((Thank you Joly. Worthwhile piece)

The Internet (internet) and broadly technologies continue to be an 'innovative government system' in itself . While the spotlight and arrows keep going to the strategies of nations classified as radicals, even the famed Europe's GDPR is government(s) acknowledging they have given their power to this Internet government that now owns the citizens. Which has created powerful information storing and channeling corporations at whose mercy they Governments are, and by extension the citizens, a new phenomenon. The attempt now is to take either of two approaches of reigning in or getting a place inside this 'new government system' as the State. Which has also led to hapless States without a clue or helpless ones, just observe and follow the tide.
Redefining governance and the role of state. Certainly more Stately maneuvers ahead! This expected situation gives CSOs a good playing field to not just be observers and critics to States but to take the first step in directing this agenda as they have influence on both ends tagging citizens and States.

Be blessed.
