This was an illegality. They should not have levied any fees without a license. Their license expired on 31st December 2016. We shall consult with KECOBO and issue an official statement on this particular matter.

MCSK is not authorized to collect royalties anymore. So no role as far as collection and distribution of Music Royalties is concerned.

organisation, Music Publishers Association of Kenya (MPAKE), in the place of
MCSK to collect and distribute royalties for authors, composers and
publishers. Please find attached a Press Statement on the same.
