I remember the days when ICT  experts would use examples  like "fights 
will be grounded because of IT issues " to show the critical role of ICT 
in the society .

Well, they can't use this example anymore , it is already happening.

It is "amazing" how the airline's  spokespersons handled the matter by 
saying  flight were grounded due to "an IT issue" .

We should be concerned at how "IT issues " are being used to justify,

  * Incompetence
  * Lack of proper processes
  * Negligence
  * and even theft at times

The public should demand for an explanation beyond "This was an IT 
issue". It is like  telling people that Nairobi water outage was due to 
"water issue".
