Technically, the 'last mile' does pose some challenges - Broadband
over Power Line (BPL) has a lot of issues [1], but AT&T claim to have
a new system [2] in development which may provide a solution.
Otherwise, FTTH is always a possibility, but would be, I think, the
more expensive option.
