Another look at the whole scenario, would be that the entire issue has been
"politicised" by the telco's since they know the potential impact on their
commercials. A lot of Kenyans use the chinese fakes, and as such a lot of
the cariers traffic passes through these "fakes". Could it be that
genuinely CA is looking at a purely device focussed and not user content?
Consider that the "breaking news" was as a result of leaks by the telco's
on the letter sent by the CA and it's requirement of them. I think this is
also potentially a valid twist to the narrative. That being said, the onus
is on the CA as a public body to show beyond doubt their intentions are not
malicious.
